Whenever we heard this word “Smart Speaker”, the first thing comes in our mind are those Bluetooth speakers, which we used to play music while travelling or for entertainment. But they are not smart speaker. So, what is Smart Speaker?
“Smart Speaker” is a wireless smart audio playback device that uses several type of connectivity whether it is Bluetooth, WI-Fi or Internet to perform additional functions. The Smart Speakers have special features to
enhance ease of use, connect to the multiple type of audio sources and provides you a great user experience.
The main purpose of Smart Speakers was the delivery of audio content from a user’s library, which can be on different platforms, and from online music service. Smart Speakers can be vary in design, features and quality.
Some of the Smart Speakers feature voice activated digital assistants and can be operated through some magical voice commands.
So, having a smart speaker with voice assistant is useful for us, we don’t need to play/pause or change music manually we can do it with voice commands.
Google Home speakers enable users to speak voice commands to interact with services through Google’s intelligent personal assistant called Google Assistant. A large number of services, both in-house and third-party, are integrated, allowing users to listen to music, control playback of videos or photos, or receive news updates entirely can be voice. Google Home devices also have integrated support for home automation, letting users control smart home appliances with their voice.
Amazon’s Echo was the very first smart speaker on the scene with artificial intelligence, and it still dominates the field. The devices connect to the voice-controlled intelligent personal assistant service Alexa, which responds to the name “Alexa”. This “wake word” can be changed by the user to “Amazon”, “Echo” or “Computer”. The device is capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audio books, and providing weather, traffic and other real-time information. It can also control several smart devices using itself as a home automation hub.
Some smart speakers feature a base station with a magnetic levitating speaker that can be placed
on ferrous metal surfaces throughout the home. These base stations often feature not only the Wi-Fi
base station component but a subwoofer for low-frequency sound, making it a bass station as well.
So, the future of Bluetooth Speaker is Smart Speaker where we just need to give voice command to
the devices and the device will perform the task, whether its playing music or listening news.
