BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) is a Mobile App developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), based on the Unified Payment Interface (UPI). This app is used to send or receive money to or from UPI payment addresses, or to non-UPI based accounts (by scanning a QR code with account number and IFSC code or MMID (Mobile Money Identifier) Code). After release of BHIM app Google will also launch a UPI based payment app. You can see about that in our blog How to use google tez app?.
Today, I will show you how to install and use BHIM app in a step by step way.
First, you have to go to the play store in your mobile phone.
Then you have to search there for BHIM app. Than install the app from there.
Now, when the app is installed and you open the app, than you first find an option to select the language.
It’s upon you that which language you want in your BHIM app.
After choosing the language and click on the next button thay show you some information.
After clicking next button, they ask you to allow access to your phone and location.
Now, You have to verify your mobile number. This Process will send a sms from your mobile number to verify that the number is register with your bank account.
Now, You have to set a 4 digit passcode. You have to enter this passcode every time when you open BHIM app.
Now You have to select your bank.
After selecting your bank name you are all ready to use the BHIM app.
Now you can send or receive money from other person.
Now you can send money to the other person which uses the BHIM app.
I will explain this step in two sub-steps.
1 – Choose the contact and amount.
First you have to choose the other persons contact no. from your contact list. You can also send the money by scanning the QR code, which displays in the other persons BHIM app.
But now i will show you sending money by choosing contact from your contact list.
After choosing contact you have to enter amount what you want to send.
After press the pay button they ask you to confirm the details filled by you.
Now you have to only enter the UPI pin, which have been created by you.
I had not show in this blog that how to create a UPI pin because i had created it before. But if you hadn’t created a UPI pin, then the BHIM app will give you the option to create it.
After enter the UPI pin, push the enter button and the money will be sent.
