Facebook launched its new “Messenger Kids” for kids under age 13. As we all know, facebook is biggest social network site with over 2 billion active users.
Now, they introduced a new app “Messenger Kids” specially designed for kids under age 13 to chat with their family and friends. A preview version of app is already rolled out on 4th December, 2017 in United States only for iOS devices and will be rolled out for other countries and for Android users.
Parents are increasingly allowing their children to use tablets and smartphones, but often have
questions and concerns about how their kids use them and which apps are appropriate. So facebook
has decided to give the full control of the Messenger Kids to the Facebook account of the parents.
Parents can manage and approve which friends and family can their kids contact and put an eye on
what their doing and whom they are talking.
Messenger Kids is full of features for kids to connect with the people they love.
Once their account is set up by the parents, kids can start a one-on-one or group video chat with
parent-approved contacts. The home screen shows them at a glance who they are approved to talk to,
and when those contacts are online.

Facebook says that the apps won’t use child’s information and there would be no ads showing up
in the app. Also, the app has been designed in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy and
Protection Act (COPPA).
